LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The woman police said was shot by her boyfriend during an attempted murder suicide has died.
According to Jefferson County Coroner R.D. Jones, the victim of the shooting, Amy Vick ,45, died from a gunshot wound to the chest at 1:38 p.m. Thursday at University of Louisville Hospital.
The shooting happened around 9:07 p.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Roederer Drive where police said Robert Levine, 46, shot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.
Detectives said Vick's children, ages 12 and 20, were inside the home at the time of the incident. Neighbors said her daughter came running out of the home and going to every neighboring home knocking on doors and frantically trying to get someone to call 911 for help.
According to Jones, the couple had lived in the home for three months.
