Man pleads not guilty to murder of motorcyclist

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man charged with murder in the death of a motorcyclist pleaded not guilty.

Thursday, David Gurley pleaded not guilty in court to the murder of Gerald Goldsmith.

Goldsmith was hit and killed on Dixie Highway near Blanton Drive on November 4. The state reported Gurley had a blood alcohol content of nearly four times the legal limit when Goldsmith was killed.

Witnesses stated Gurley was so drunk, he did not even show remorse. They told police that Gurley got out of his SUV and demanded a light for his cigarette.

Gurley is being held on a $750,000 full cash bond. He goes back to court in January.
