LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man accused of killing a woman while driving drunk pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Friday, Maynor Gonzalez-Munoz, 32, admitted to police that he had been drinking when he crashed into another car.

The driver of the car he hit, Ashley Martinez, 23, died at the scene.

Gonzalez was sentenced to 18 years in prison, but must serve at least 15 years.

Prosecutors consider the plea a victory.

Ashley's mother and sister were present at the hearing.

Her mother, Theresa Martinez, seemed happy with the plea deal, "I feel that justice was served. Of course he would never get enough years to bring my daughter back, but I feel like that justice was served today."

The accident happened on April 29, 2012 when Ashley was coming home from a friend's house.
