LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville
man who is studying at Harvard University has been named a 2013 Rhodes Scholar.
Allan Hsiao is a senior majoring in economics
and East Asian studies. Hsiao said he hopes to teach economics with a focus on
migration.
Hsiao has done field work in China on
rural-to-urban migration.
Hsiao is a gradual at Manual High
School and plans to pursue modern Chinese studies at Oxford University in
London.
According to the Rhodes Scholarships website, it is the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship award in the world. Only 32 young Americans are selected as Rhodes Scholars each year.
