LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The tax on
cigarettes sold in Kentucky could be going up.
The governor's Blue Ribbon Commission
voted on Monday to raise the state cigarette tax to $1 per pack. That's up from
60 cents per pack.
The commission said the increase would
raise about $120 million in new revenue in the first year alone.
