We have much to be thankful for as we celebrate with family
and friends this week.
The generosity of our community astounds. Whether it is helping our tornado ravaged
communities rebuild; contributing considerable amounts to the United Way,
Crusade for Children and Fund for the Arts drives to improve the quality of
life in our region; or helping needy families have a brighter holiday season
through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, our Kentucky and Indiana
neighborhoods are special.
We give thanks to the many area soldiers who will be
returning soon for good from war ravaged areas and all who have served and are
still serving our nation.
We are thankful for the added employment this year at Ford
and GE in Louisville that makes for a brighter holiday season for many.
We are also thankful that 52 percent of Kentucky manufacturers plan
to hire between one and 19 additional employees next year.
Sports fans can revel in potentially one of the best
University of Louisville football seasons ever, and the Cardinals, Wildcats,
and Hoosiers battling it out for the NCAA hoop title.
We thank you for the privilege of serving you each day.
