Conviction upheld for woman who ran over an 11-year-old

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of a woman who ran over an 11-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle.

The court rejected several arguments brought by Angela Baumia, 33, who was convicted in Jefferson County in 2010. A jury found Baumia guilty of murder in the death of Dylan Geitgey.

Baumia had a blood alcohol level roughly three times the legal limit at the time of the collision. She is serving a 35-year sentence.
