Funeral held for father of seven

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Friends and family gathered to say their good-byes to a father of seven killed after leaving work.

According to police, Andre Ballard had just finished his shift at Indi's, located at 11th Street and Broadway on Sunday night when he was robbed and shot to death.

Visitation for Ballard was held Saturday at the New Zion Church located off 34th Street.

His family celebrated Thanksgiving, but said the holiday was not the same without him.

Ballard's brother, Bullock, said Ballard, "Did everything the way it was supposed to be done. He set an example for a whole lot of us. He was my little brother and I learned a lot from my little brother."
