GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Fire damaged seven businesses and gutted three others at a Glendale strip mall early Saturday morning, fire authorities said.

When firefighters arrived at around 1 a.m., they said they saw smoke coming from the back of the 14-unit strip mall at 65th Avenue and Glendale.

After further investigation, fire crews discovered an attic fire.

It took at least 60 firefighters more than an hour to bring under control.

No one was in any of the businesses and none of the firefighters was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
