LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A former
University of Louisville football and basketball player is suing Jefferson County
Public Schools.
Joshua Tinch, a former instructor at
Iroquois High School, was terminated by JCPS after a female student complained in
late 2011 that Tinch had inappropriate contact with her.
After a criminal investigation by the
Louisville Metro Police Department and child protective services, no evidence
was found to bring charges.
Now, a lawsuit filed in Jefferson County
Circuit Court claims former JCPS Spokesperson Lauren Roberts announced to the
media that Tinch was being investigated before he was told. Tinch's attorney
said JCPS sent a letter to Tinch about the investigation to an old address.
Tinch is suing for violation of due
process and defamation of character.
JCPS said they have not seen the lawsuit and cannot comment.
