Hard to believe three weeks after the election, 33 states
are still counting votes.
It is a good thing the Presidential election wasn't close.
The provisional ballots are the issue – those ballots that
are contested. The same ballots that
caused long lines on Election Day.
Why not let people register on Election Day so they don't
have to cast a provisional ballot like millions of Americans had to do this
year?
Why not permit registering on-line?
Why not upgrade our computer software to allow poll workers
to check registration rolls of other states to make sure someone isn't
registered in other states?
Registration rolls are a mess in some places, containing
names of people who have moved, who aren't citizens, or who are resting in
peace. We need to fix it now and maintain it.
Our country is more technologically advanced than ever
before. Surely, we can commit to using our tech talent to make the most
important part of our citizenship run more smoothly.
