Man struck and killed by train in Valley Station

Police were on the scene of the incident in Valley Station.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man was hit and killed by a train in Valley Station late Thursday night.

Louisville Metro police officers were called to Dixie Highway and Valley Station Road near the Meijer store just before midnight on a report of a pedestrian struck by a train.

It was not immediately clear why the man was near the tracks.

The victim's identity has not been released.
