Death penalty possible for woman who allegedly killed grandmother

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman accused of killing her grandmother and stuffing her in a trash can may receive the death penalty.

Friday, the Commonwealth filed aggravating circumstances in the case of Ellen Crawley.

Police said Crawley killed Mary McClain during a fight at McClain's home. Her body was found in a garbage can on August 27.

Prosecutors are still gathering evidence in the case.

Crawley is due back in court on February 28.
