LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky's junior senator, Rand Paul, will be making his first trip to the Middle East in early 2013.
Paul's spokeswoman told CNN the Republican will travel to Israel and Jordan in January. She said the purpose of his trip is to gather information.
This trip could stir up speculation surrounding his interest in a bid for the White House, which he recently addressed. Paul said he would not deny that he is interested in running for President but was not assertive in his statement.
Paul's spokeswoman says the government will not cover the cost of the trip.
