FAA investigating fatal plane crash

GREENSBURG, IN (WAVE) - Federal investigators are looking into a fatal plane crash in Indiana.

Donald and Barbara Horan and Steven and Denise Putz all died when the small plane crashed around 6 p.m. Sunday in Greensburg.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the small plane to fall from the sky just a mile and a half short of the runway.

The FAA said the plane had been cleared to approach the airport, but then never arrived.

The bodies of the four were discovered in the wreckage four hours after the first call to 911.

The FAA is looking into weather conditions, the training of the pilot and mechanics of the plane.
