CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The trial date was set on Tuesday for a babysitter accused of murdering a 1-year-old child.

Marquita Burch was arrested in March for the death of William Cunningham. Investigators say Burch was friends with Cunningham's mother and had been babysitting him for several weeks in her home. The child was injured on May 22nd and died the next day. Burch put the child in a garbage bag after he died, and took him to her cousin's house on Friday, May 25th. She then reported the child missing to police in Covington.

According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office, she failed to seek medical treatment for Cunningham after she inflicted injury on him. The Hamilton County Coroner said that prompt medical treatment may have saved Cunningham's life.

In July, the Hamilton County grand jury indicted Marquita Burch for murder, two counts of endangering children, involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in the death of Cunningham.

On Tuesday, Burch's trial date was set for March 25th at 10 a.m, with a report hearing on February 28th.
