Elizabethtown police officer facing possible termination

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – An Elizabethtown police officer is on paid leave and might soon be out of a job.

Officials with the Elizabethtown Police Department said Officer James Richardson is appealing the decision.

A department spokesperson said city policy prevents them from releasing the cause of Richardson's possible termination until his appeal is finalized.

Richardson has been with the Elizabethtown Police Department for eight years.
