LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Calling it the toughest decision he's had to make in his 29 years of coaching, Charlie Strong has decided to remain as head coach of the University of Louisville.
During an 8 a.m. press conference, Strong said the decision was made to remain at Louisville with a few minutes of deliberation. He called it a "life decision for myself, my family and my school."
Strong told the gathered media that his loyalty is here and said the job at Louisville is not finished. He said the team is still growing together and they have a lot of work to do.
Strong also said Tom Jurich trusted in him, giving him his first chance to be a head coach after 27 years as an assistant. Strong said he was always on everybody's short list, but he was the only one on Jurich's list.
