LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) – Personal information
about some University of Kentucky students was accidentally emailed to 600 other
students, prompting the school to issue an apology.
A university employee mistakenly sent the mass
email on Wednesday. It listed the names of students with disabilities and their
accommodations.
UK released a statement on Thursday
saying the mistake was "realized immediately" and that efforts were made to
recall the email.
UK Vice President for Student Affairs
Robert Mock said in the statement that no other private information was
included in the email.
He said the university is reviewing
internal procedures in an effort to prevent future mistakes of this nature.
