JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - The final piece of steel is in place on the Indiana side of the Big Four Bridge.
The piece was installed Tuesday morning as several residents in the area watched.
Ross Johnson watched and said he was there in the 70s when the bridge was still used for trains and hopes the new pedestrian bridge will help spruce up the area.
In Indiana the bridge entrance will be known as the Big Four Station which consists of a $3 million park west of downtown where the bridge ramp ends.
The whole portion is expected to be finished by Spring 2013.
