AUSTIN, IN (WAVE) – A sixth grade love
triangle apparently led to trouble at a Scott County school on Wednesday.
A young man upset about a breakup
posted on Facebook overnight that he would show up at Austin Middle School with
a knife and a gun, according to Superintendent Berley Goodin. Security found
the boy walking in a school hallway Wednesday morning with a knife in his
possession. No gun was found.
The boy was taken to jail because he
violated the district's no tolerance policy on weapons on campus.
Two other boys were questioned and
released to their parents.
Goodin said the boy's sixth grade
girlfriend recently broke up with him and had begun dating another young man.
That's apparently what led to the incident.
The boy was previously expelled from
the school but was doing online work in a library at Austin Middle School,
Goodin said.
