Joyous Singers Community Chorus (Source: Facebook)The Joyous Singers Community Chorus was organized by Clarese Fuller in February 2000 with six persons attending the first rehearsals.
One of the six founding members, Ann Franklin, has continued to sing with the chorus through the years. The chorus voices now number in the fifties with several instrumentalists also participating.
The group is committed to excellence with weekly two-hour rehearsals. Its goal is to provide an opportunity for members ages 55 and over to continue to contribute to the community with performances targeted to churches, senior citizens, retirement and nursing facilities and clubs.
Program themes each season are different and over the years have included patriotic, sacred, folk music, spirituals and Broadway show tunes.
Each year the Joyous Singers present at least one performance to which the general public is invited.
