University of Louisville sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was named an honorable mention All-American by Pro Football Weekly on Wednesday.
Bridgewater, who was named the BIG EAST's Offensive Player of the Year, was also selected a first team All-BIG EAST award winner after guiding the Cardinals to a 10-2 overall record, and the school's second-straight BIG EAST title.
A native of Miami, Fla., Bridgewater threw for 3,452 yards and 25 touchdowns this season. He ranks fourth in school history for yards in a season and is fifth in touchdown passes. Bridgewater recorded two 400-yard passing games this year and completed 69.0 percent of his passes. In a 45-26 loss to Syracuse,
Bridgewater threw for a career-best 426 yards, and tossed a career-best five touchdowns in a win over Temple.
