CROTHERSVILLE, IN (WAVE) - The family of the Scott County man who went missing three years ago and was found dead last month in the very spot he was last seen will finally lay him to rest.
The visitation for Paul Graupe Junior was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville. His funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday.
When asked how it feels to gather at a funeral home to say goodbye to the son who had his same name, Paul Graupe Senior answered "Not good. Not good. Not good. This has gone on entirely too long and no one should have to go through this."
Graupe Junior disappeared in November 2009. He was last seen at Robert Riley's home on Main Street in Austin. It's the very same place police dug up his body in November of this year. "What's disappointing is this is where it started right at that location. To find my son there is very difficult for me at this point. He was right there and he wasn't found," said Graupe Senior.
Police said Riley robbed Graupe Junior and then killed him. He was a suspect at the beginning, but it wasn't until Graupe Senior and the rest of the family pushed for Austin City Police to give his case to the Scott County Sheriff that he was finally arrested.
His family said they are going to make sure it won't take three more years for justice.
