LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man who spent more than a decade in prison for a murder he did not commit wants justice from the City and the Louisville Metro police officers on his case.

Kerry Porter filed a lawsuit against Metro government, the City of Louisville, and 11 different Louisville police officers.

Porter claimed police did not pursue other leads and moved forward with the case even though evidence pointed toward another suspect in the 1996 murder of Tyrone Camp.

Porter was cleared of Camp's murder and released from prison in December 2011.

Porter was rearrested in July on charges that he assaulted his girlfriend.
