Suspect charged in skateboard assault

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Nearly three months after it happened, Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest in an assault case in which a skateboard was used as the weapon.

Joshua D. Devine, 20, is charged with assault in the September 29 attack that happened on Terry Road. According to police, Devine struck Kiersten Holt in the head with a skateboard. Holt had to undergo emergency brain surgery.

In the arrest report, police state the actions of Devine showed "extreme difference to the value of human life" and caused serious physical injury and created a grave risk of death to Holt.

Devine was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on one count of assault, first degree.
