LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Road rage didn't end when a car full of students turned into Male High School. The angry driver followed the vehicle and caused the school to heighten security.
Police charged Donald Heichelbech, 52, with assault and terroristic threatening after police said he confronted the teens, assaulted them and then followed the car to Male High School.
Once inside, officers alleged Heichelbech threatened to return to the school with a gun and shoot the young men who were in the car.
The incident occurred December 7 when the teenagers, whose names WAVE 3 will not print or broadcast because they're minors, were involved in a minor accident with Heichelbech.
Police reports indicate Heichelbech confronted the car full of teens shortly after the accident. One of the victim's parent claims Heichelbech approached the teen boys and became physically aggressive – causing a busted lip and minor cuts.
Shortly after the altercation, officers said Heichelbech followed the teenagers to Male High School and entered the school office.
Heichelbech threatened to return and harm the teens. Consequently, administrators heightened Male High School's security to a Level 3.
Heichelbech was charged for the alleged crimes more than a week after the December 7 incident. His attorney, Grant Helman, declined to comment on the charges.
