Governors to honor moment of silence

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky and Indiana will take a moment of silence to remember the victims of the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy.

On Friday, one week after the shooting, Governors Steve Beshear and Mitch Daniels are asking residents to pause at 9:30 a.m. for a moment of silence for the 20 first graders and six adults who were killed in a rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy declared Friday a day of mourning and asked other states to participate in a moment of silence.

Churches and other buildings with bells are encouraged to sound them 26 times.
