Thefts happening near hospitals

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - While some medical professionals are working to help others, thieves are helping themselves.

According to St. Matthews police, a number of wallets have been taken inside St. Matthews hospitals, mostly Jewish Hospital Northeast, located at Breckenridge and Dutchmans Lanes.

Police are now searching for at least on thief who was caught on camera.

Detective Tony Ford said the wallet thefts are not related to the rash of car break-ins in the same area.

Police are looking for a white Oldsmobile Alero in connection to the thefts.
