FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – A couple was
arrested after thousands of pills were found inside their vehicles.
According to Kentucky State Police, at
6:30 p.m. on December 12, officers pulled over Christopher Mays, 33, on Rolling
Acres Drive after observing a violation. Police said his girlfriend, Brittany
Hawkins, 24, was also pulled over after
she drove past and asked what was going
on.
Officers ended up finding 8,195 pills,
7.6 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. The drugs found in the
cars were worth an estimated $67,000.
Both were taken to the Franklin County
Regional Jail.
Mays is charged with trafficking a
controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking a controlled substance
3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking marijuana
and disorderly conduct.
Hawkins is charged with trafficking a
controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking a controlled substance
3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking marijuana
and tampering with physical evidence.
