Victim tips off police after 5 years of sexual abuse

BOYD COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A man was charged after allegedly abusing a teen, starting when she was 12 years old.

Kentucky State Police were tipped off by the victim, who is now 17 and lives in Connecticut, on November 27.

According to police, she was abused from 1998 to 2007 by Clyde Diamond, 47, a family friend and babysitter.

On December 20, police interviewed Diamond and it was revealed sexual contact had occurred between him and the victim.

Diamond was arrested and lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.

He is charged with sexual abuse.
