Pedestrian hit by 3 vehicles, killed on Gene Snyder Freeway

Police responded to the scene on Christmas morning.
Investigators huddled at the scene of Tuesday's deadly accident.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A teenage pedestrian was hit by three vehicles and killed along the Gene Snyder Freeway/Interstate 265 on Christmas morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on the eastbound Snyder near Dixie Highway.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Lucas Anthony Piccoli, 19, of Utah.
Witnesses told police Piccoli suddenly ran into traffic, perhaps trying to cross the interstate, and a rental truck hit him. Two vehicles behind the truck also ran over Piccolo, killing him on the scene.
All of the drivers stopped and waited for police to arrive. No charges were expected to be filed.
Investigators said they do not know why Piccoli was in Louisville or why he might have been walking along the Snyder. No vehicles were found nearby that might have belonged to him.
