Forty of them will assist emergency personnel with the evacuation of stranded drivers and shut-ins. Another two dozen of them will provide life support and vehicle staging operations to emergency personnel during IDHS operations.

The Indiana National Guard will assist civil authorities in order to prevent loss of life and damage to property and infrastructure during the winter storm.

Guardsmen are operating in Terre Haute, Vincennes, Evansville, Indianapolis, Muncie and Richmond, IN. Troops are also standing by to provide support in New Albany if needed.
