LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Fund for the Arts power2give.org celebrates one year!

The power2give.org, the micro-funding website facilitated by Fund for the Arts, celebrates its one year anniversary. Launched December 5, 2011, power2give.org encourages patrons to donate funds directly to Arts and culture projects. Since the launch of the site, power2give.org has generated more than $711,835 for Arts and culture projects throughout the state of Kentucky and in Southern Indiana.

The Fund for the Arts launched power2give.org to remain innovative in the community, as fundraising trends indicate donors prefer to give directly to projects, not organizations. With more than 81 non-profits posting projects, many have had substantial success. Kentucky Shakespeare, for example, has generated more than $78,000 on the website.
