Major accident shuts down I-64 East

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Traffic is now back to normal on I-64 East after a major accident Saturday afternoon. MetroSafe dispatchers tell WAVE 3 that emergency crews were on the scene of an accident on I-64 East near the Gene Snyder Freeway.

Crews were called out around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, a car flipped on I-64 East bound and at least one person has been ejected from a vehicle. Officials say I-64 East was completely shut down and cars were being rerouted on I-265.

The victim is being transported to the hospital.
