LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police discovered 125 marijuana plants in a rental house, but no one lived there. Instead, officers said Gary Murphy, 30, ran a marijuana growing operation in the vacant house.

Murphy is charged with cultivating and trafficking marijuana, both felonies. Metro police arrested Murphy at the house in the 1100 block of West Fern Valley Road, located off of Preston Highway.

A police affidavit listed Murphy's address on Deady Drive in Pleasure Ridge Park.

Several warehouses and businesses on Industrial Road are located behind the house, including Carpet, Cushions and Supplies.

"It makes me really concerned with possible break ins here at my store," Manager Tim Brashear said.  "Wherever you have someone selling drugs  your crime rate goes up."

Murphy is being held in Metro Corrections.
