Hindi faces judge for alleged officer assault

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man accused of killing two men at a homeowners association meeting back in September was in court again Thursday morning for making terrorizing threats and assault.

Dr. Mahmoud Hindi is accused of throwing water on a Louisville Metro Corrections officer and threatening to kill him after a nurse gave Hindi his daily medication.

Against the advice of his attorney, Hindi spoke out during his arraignment at the metro Corrections courtroom and said that's not what happened.

"This whole thing, he's the one who actually assaulted me and pushed me to the hall," said Hindi, who was told by the judge the court proceeding was being recorded.

Hindi went on to say, "this was a setup."

The judge was ordered held on a $10,000 cash bond for the new charges. His next court date was set for January 14.
