The Irmo Police Department arrested three people in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in the Archers Court neighborhood in Irmo Thursday.

According to Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck, 17-year-old Precious Gadson, 20-year-old Dan Demetri Ford and  26-year-old Antoine Woodlin were arrested and charged with first degree burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping, assault and battery with intent to kill, use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime and grand larceny. Woodlin is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

The report said at approximately 1:00 p.m., the three entered a residence in the Archers Court neighborhood.  At the time they went into the residence, a 13-year-old boy was inside, home from school due to an illness.

The boy called his mother when he heard noises outside of the residence, and was on the phone with his mother when the suspects entered the home.

Police say the boy's mother called 911 when the phone connection with her son was broken.

According to the boy, once inside the house, the suspects threatened him with a pistol and forced him to hide his face in a pillow. He was unharmed.

Police arrived within moments of the 911 call, and were able to apprehend Gadson as she fled the house in a Red Mercury Mountaineer.

Police requested assistance from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Richland County Sheriff's Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division with the belief that the other two suspects were still in the residence, the report stated.

A search of the house by the SLED SWAT team showed that the other two suspects had fled the scene.

Officers began a search of the area using bloodhounds.

While conducting that search, Ford and Woodlin were apprehended by sheriff's deputies as they walked out of the woods near Top Knoll Court, which is in the Archers Court neighborhood.

"The Irmo Police Department enjoys an excellent working relationship with all of our law enforcement partners and the Irmo community benefits from this relationship," said Buck.  All of the agencies worked hard and we were able to very quickly apprehend these suspects.  The real hero of this unfortunate incident is the 13 year old victim.  He remained very calm during unbelievably stressful conditions.  I am extremely proud of this young man."

All three suspects are at the Lexington County Detention Center where they will be served with arrest warrants and be given a bond hearing within the next 24 hours.
