LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Louisville Cardinals are home
from the Big Easy, now known as hometown football heroes.
"I think it was something a lot of people were surprised,
but the faithful cardinal fans knew they could pull it out," said fan John
Lesch who watched spent Wednesday night watching the University of Louisville
basketball game at the KFC Yum Center, before driving home to watch the
football team in the Sugar Bowl.
At Syngergism Company the wins kept them up all night.
"We started about 1 in the morning, so forgive me if I've not shaven or
anything like that," Vice President Andy Dabney apologized as he watched his
workers crank out Championship t-shirts.
"We got some pre orders before just in case they won, so
we filled those and now we're getting orders they are coming in by the minute
just about."
Their designed was licensed and approved before the
Cardinals big win, with a mock-up score that was almost dead on. "We just
picked a random number. We put 31 to 23 so we were pretty close," said Dabney.
It's a score fans like Bonnie Herman are happy to hold
onto with her new t-shirts. " I was so tickled to see they've got the shirts
because my son and my husband are going out there to see them arrive."
While she and her family were hopeful the Cards would win
even with a 10 point margin, she said her family was holding their breath. They
were only completely convinced, "When the time was running out we seen we were
still ahead."
If you want the same t-shirt Synergism is selling them at
local retailers, including Kroger. Fan Outfitters in St. Matthews expected
their championship t-shirts Thursday afternoon.
