Officer hit by vehicle during foot chase, suspect charged

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man accused of shoplifting from the WalMart in Bashford Manor Mall has been charged.

According to an arrest report, Yaaman Lee, 23, was suspected of shoplifting. When an off-duty Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy saw Lee he chased him on foot in the parking lot. During the chase a car hit the deputy and knocked him to the ground.

The deputy was treated at the scene and expected to be okay.

Lee faces charges of robbery, assault, fleeing and resisting arrest.

    The mother of two-year-old William Roberts took her eyes off her son for a couple minutes Saturday afternoon, according to police. The toddler disappeared in a creek in Borden, Indiana around 230 p.m.
