LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is investigating to find out the cause of a fire at a gun repair shop.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Danny's Louisville Gun Repair on Bishop Lane.

Firefighters had to retreat due to ammunition that started going off from the heat, exploding in all directions.

Steve Adkins, with Camp Taylor Fire, explained, "It was a little discomforting, you know having the rounds of ammunition going and you didn't know where they were coming from and what was going to happen. So we erred on the safe side and pulled back for just a few minutes so things could calm down, and then made an attack."

Once firefighters were able to get inside, they were able to get the flames under control quickly.

No injuries were reported.
