Police searching for connection in armed robberies

CLARK COUNTY, IN (WAVE) – Investigators are working to see if two armed robberies are connected.

According to police, on December 27 a man robbed Kopp Lane Food Mart in Clarksville, Indiana. Police said the clerk was in the back of the store when the man entered.

According to the clerk, the suspect showed a gun and demanded money. When the clerk went to close the door police said the man shot at him, hitting the metal door.

The clerk was not injured.

Two days later, a clerk was shot three times during an attempted robbery at Red Carpet Liquors at 8th Street and Crestview Court in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The clerk survived surgery but remains hospitalized.
