Suspect in robbery attempt near UC appears in court

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -

A Northside man was in court Monday for an attempted armed robbery in Clifton Heights.

Police arrested Nolan Gibbs, 20, on West Hollister Street around 6:05 p.m. Saturday, just blocks away from UC campus.

According to reports, Gibbs pointed two guns at a homeowner before fleeing the scene.

Police say Gibbs hid his firearms in the woods behind the house.

Both firearms were recovered by police. One of the recovered weapons had defaced serial numbers. A police K-9 unit located Gibbs a short distance from the scene.

The victim was not injured and nothing was taken in the attempt.

Gibbs is facing multiple charges. His bond was set at $36,500.
