LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - One person died in a single vehicle accident Sunday morning that ended in a fiery crash.
Police said the wreck happened shortly before 6 a.m. when a driver in a Ford pickup truck lost control of the vehicle on South Park Road. The accident occurred underneath the 841-Gene Snyder Freeway overpass. A fire engulfed the vehicle when emergency responders arrived.
"Fairdale Fire was on first on the scene and discovered the vehicle on fire. Once they arrived, they found a person inside," LMPD Officer Carey Klain said.
Klain said speed may have been a factor in the crash. A coroner will release the deceased's identity once family has been notified.
