LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman who operates an in-home daycare is accused of injuring a toddler in her care because the girl wouldn't stop crying.
Tina Timberlake-Whitaker, 50, of Louisville slapped the child several times on December 21, causing severe bruising to the one-year-old girl's face, forehead and ears, according to an arrest report.
When the victim's mother picked up the child at Timberlake-Whitaker's home on Belmar Drive, police said she noticed the injuries and took her daughter to Southwest Hospital.
The arrest report says Timberlake-Whitaker admitted in a taped statement to striking the girl numerous times. The woman is charged with 3rd degree criminal abuse.
