Police: Caretaker stole thousands from senior

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a senior she was supposed to be caring for.

Rebecca Chesser, 31, was taken into custody Sunday on an arrest warrant.

According to police, Chesser moved in with the 69-year-old woman to care for her. During that time Chesser took the woman's debit card to access her accounts and even opened a home equity line of credit in the victim's name without consent.

Chesser is accused of stealing $76,000 from the senior.

She is facing charges of knowingly exploiting an adult and fraudulent use of a credit card.
