Wanted pregnant woman jumps from two-story window

(WMC-TV) - A woman who has been wanted since April 2012 made a daring two-story getaway attempt with a baby on board.

Now she's at The MED nursing injuries.
It was a dreary day with an odd beginning on Clementine at the Warren Apartments.

"I guess she thought the baby had a warrant, too, before he even got here," said a Warren Apartments resident.

Sheriff's deputies showed up looking for April Brigance.

She was wanted for burglary, but rather than go quietly - Brigance instead tried to avoid arrest by bailing out of a second floor window.

"I just hope she do what she gotta do to get better," said Brigance's brother.

Her brother didn't want to use his name or show his face, but he estimates Brigance is between 6 and 8 months pregnant.

He said the ambulance took her to The MED with a broken ankle, an injured tailbone and mild contractions from the jump.

After the hospital, she's bound for jail.

"You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Know what you're doing. Know what you get yourself into," said Brigance's brother.

Deputies also arrested her boyfriend, Justin Miller, on an outstanding warrant for driving charges.

But by far the talk of Clementine in the Warren Apartments is April Brigance's attempt at a great escape for two.

Miller is due in court Thursday.

At last check Brigance has been charged, but not booked at 201.
