LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville roofer
is accused of bilking three homeowners out of nearly $13,000, and police
believe there are other victims who have not come forward.
Sean Redden, 42, was arrested Thursday
and charged with theft by deception. Police
said Redden promised the homeowners that he would fix their roofs but never did
their work, and in a couple of cases, he kept coming back for more money.
"I trusted him like a fool, and I don't
like to say that. I'm not a fool," said E.J. Jenne who hired Redden to repair his
hail-damaged roof. "I'm a college educated person, but I gave him my trust."
Jenne said he got suspicious of Redden's
story and refused Redden when he returned for more money. Jenne said he has
since looked into Redden's background and that Redden is wanted in South
Carolina for similar crimes.
Louisville Metro Police said they want
to hear from anyone else who may have been duped by Sean Redden.
