LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville father
is accused of leaving his two young children inside a frigid car while he stole
three flat-screen TVs from a Walmart store.
Robert H. Collins Jr., 30, is charged with
two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and theft by unlawful taking.
Police said Collins left his 2 and 5-year-old
children unattended in the car with the engine turned off outside the Walmart
on Standiford Plaza Drive on Monday. The temperature Monday night was around 23
degrees.
Collins walked into the Walmart, put three
flat-screen TVs into a shopping cart and pushed them out the store without
paying for them, according to investigators. The TVs are valued at $947.64.
Collins' bond is set at $2,500.
