LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A prime 30-acre tract of land has been purchased in west Louisville with plans to aggressively market it to companies wishing to expand or relocate to the city.

The property, located at 30th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, was the former home of National Tobacco and is currently owned by the state.

Mayor Greg Fischer said the land purchase will help give back the Russell, California, Portland and Chickasaw neighborhoods.

The city will pay $1.2 million for the property.
